Anthony Russo Praises Stan Lee's Work On Marvel Sets

Although he wasn't an actor by trade, over nearly two decades we grew accustomed to seeing Stan Lee on the big screen, thanks to his cameos in various comic book films. With his passing, Anthony Russo directed Stan Lee in cameos in multiple MCU films with his brother Jo, spoke about what "The Man" was like on set. This includes his work on Infinity War and the highly anticipated Avengers 4.

He was just exuberant. The energy he would bring to set, especially at his age, was stunning. You could tell he just loved to be there. It lit him up. Like Joe said, he lit everybody else up around him. He was the kinda guy ... he always wanted more lines, he always wanted to do more, which is fantastic. It was a great lesson that, even for these small moments, he's bringing everything to the table that he possibly can to make the most of a moment. I think that's one of the things that was so special about him.

Lee has been described as a positive presence on the set, lighting up everyone around him.

Stan Lee once spoke about why he liked doing cameos so much, saying that for that brief period, he gets to be an actor. It wasn't a chore for him, but a pleasure. And everything Anthony Russo told Collider during a Q&A after a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War supports that same image.

Stan Lee clearly loved being a part of the process on these film, and he was very engaged in his myriad cameos. That infectious enthusiasm came through onscreen, as he always looked to be having a great time. It sounds like the legendary Marvel creator he was a joy to work with on set, the kind of person everyone wants to be around who was always willing to give his all and do whatever it took to deliver great moments for the fans.

Needless to say, Stan Lee gave the fandom a lot of those great moments. The iconic comic creator became a constant presence in these massive movies, giving fans something to watch for, where they can all share in his delightful and funny cameos while also being reminded of the deep roots of these marvelous stories. So although he wasn't an actor in the traditional sense, he nevertheless made an everlasting mark in some of the biggest movies ever.

In the wake of Stan Lee's death, the public has been discussing his best cameos, and seen countless tributes and remembrances to the legendary comic creator who cemented his pop culture permanence on the big screen. And although he is now gone, his big screen legacy thankfully still has a few chapters left to tell.

Stan Lee should still have a cameo in next year's Avengers 4, and we'll also get to hear him again as he also makes a cameo in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That film, which is getting spectacular reviews, swings into theaters on December 14th.

Long before the Justice League came together in the realm of live-action, they were teaming up and fighting battles in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Those beloved animated series still stand as a high point of storytelling for DC characters, and now fans have a chance to return to that world with Justice League vs The Fatal Five. The new DC Universe animated film brings back some familiar voices for an all-new adventure. Check out the trailer below:

If youre a DC fan of a certain age, you probably got waves of nostalgic feels watching that trailer and hearing those voices. The trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are all voiced in Justice League vs The Fatal Five by the voice actors who brought the characters to life in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. George Newbern as Superman, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman and especially Kevin Conroy as Batman just sounds right.

These three have collaborated on various DC video games together, but as far as I can tell, this is the first time this trinity has reunited for a DC Universe animated movie. A return to Bruce Timm's animated DC universe is an exciting prospect, and this trailer teases a fun new adventure for new fans and those that grew up on the Justice League animated series.

This trailer is exciting because we see some new characters joining the iconic trinity. Star Boy, voiced by Elyes Gabel, arrives from the 31st century with the Fatal Five team of supervillains, created by Jim Shooter, hot on his heels. The Fatal Five seem to be holding Metropolis hostage until the Justice League turns over Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, who is the key to their plan.

This is fun because it gives audiences a chance to see new younger heroes like Star Boy and Jessica Cruz fighting alongside the familiar veterans of the Justice League trinity against different foes than the standard Lex Luthors and Jokers of the universe. The trailer also teases that this story has a healthy bit of mystery to it as the Worlds Greatest Detective is trying to suss out the Fatal Fives plan.

The story looks positively action-packed, and as you would expect from a DC Universe animated film, the animation all looks clean and brilliant, adhering to the classic Justice League style. I also appreciated that little bit of humor from Miss Martian at the end of the trailer. Other characters appearing in the story include Mr. Terrific, Brainiac 5 and Saturn Girl.

Justice League vs The Fatal Five is executive produced by Batman: The Animated Series Bruce Timm and is directed by Reign of the Supermen director Sam Liu. There is no official release date yet for the film, but Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is expected to release it on Digital and Blu-ray later this year according to IGN.

Star Wars Fans Are Hoping For Another Classic Character In The Rise of Skywalker

With the Star Wars closing the book on their historic Skywalker Saga in The Rise of Skywalker, this seems like the last (or at least best) chance to reintroduce characters from the classic trilogy that need some closure. And if a fans recent discovery is any indication, it looks like Lando Calrissian may be bringing along his old friend Lobot for the ride!

Take a look at the supposed evidence for yourself, below:

Within the big shot of Billy Dee Williams returning scoundrel sitting in the Millennium Falcon cockpit alongside Oscar Isaacs roguish Poe Dameron, you can see that Lando is surely rocking a very familiar looking bracelet that has been seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

Looking at the detail in the recent Anne Liebowitz photo shoot for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and comparing it to a shot of Lando using the bracelet in The Empire Strikes Back, co-writer/director J.J. Abrams seems to have called upon classic Star Wars history yet again to realize his vision of its future.

The character of Lobot has an interesting history, starting with his original appearance as played by John Hollis in 1980s The Empire Strikes Back. The character started life as a cyborg aide to Lando Calrissian, and was integral to freeing Princess Leia and the rest of the Rebels being held on Cloud City, after the freezing of Han Solo.

But, as with a lot of supporting characters in the Star Wars universe, there was quite a bit of background filled into Lobots backstory before and after the classic trilogys run. But even with this rich background of material, there is one pretty big snag to bringing back Lobot into the Star Wars fabric, should this eagle eyed Twitter user be onto something.

Actor John Hollis passed away in 2005, which could rule out his return entirely, depending on whether or not Lucasfilm has the right clearances to use his likeness. In the best case scenario, theres a possibility theyll work some digital magic to animate Hollis face onto a body double.

Though, should this not be an option, we could end up seeing another AJ^6 cyborg construct in the employ of Lando, and just as willing to serve faithfully in the fight against the First Order. As is with most Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker theories, well have to wait for further information to prove or disprove this valid possibility.

Every day the playing field narrows, with new figures and old being introduced into the roster. And with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker only getting closer as time ticks on, it feels like were going to see some big surprises headed our way in these crucial hours.

These Avengers Movies Are Being Called A Culmination, Heres What That Means

Needless to say, there are going to be spoilers in the following article, so turn back now if you want to head into Avengers: Infinity War knowing nothing at all.

It's a word that we heard time and time again, from every member of the Avengers: Infinity War creative team. "Culmination." This movie -- and, to a certain extent, Avengers 4 that will follow next summer, serves as a culmination to the MCU, the ongoing comic-book cinematic series that began with Iron Man back in 2008. But what, exactly, does that mean?! It was the last question that we posed to directors Joe and Anthony Russo after a long day of filming, a long day of learning everything that we could about Infinity War while on the movie's set. And they told us:

Anthony Russo: I think as storytellers, what it means for us is that while you're always looking for cataclysmic events in a film, to change a character [or] to challenge a character, and to sort of explore who that character is and test who that character is, it gave all of us in this film an opportunity to figure out, well, what were those ultimate tests for these characters, you know what I mean? To go one step further even than how you would normally test the character in one of these films, because we had the freedom to sort of think of it in many cases as sort of a final test.Joe Russo: If you were to think of the Marvel universe over the last ten years as a book, this is the ending of the book. And then, there may be new books written. But this is certainly the ending of this book.

So ominous. We learned that information nearly a year ago, and it has been very difficult to sit on it for this amount of time. But since we learned it, we have picked up more pieces of information that shape the narrative. While Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 will be the "ending of this book," as Joe Russo calls it, there are other movies on the docket that will continue the MCU, from a Spider-Man sequel to a third Guardians of the Galaxy and a planned Black Panther 2.

But this means that the MCU as we know it I ending. Which likely means -- though we can not confirm -- that core members like Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) might be hanging up their capes, and passing the baton to a new phase of Avengers. What will the battle against Thanos lead to? West Coast Avengers? New Avengers? There are a number of ways Marvel Studios can go. For now, the future is unwritten, even though the past is coming to a close.
